Aluminium covers and frames have a number of unique features designed to improve not only appearance but also performance. The section is tapered to assist cover removal. Galvanised mid steel base plates, lock and lift facility and seals are fitted as standard. High resistance to corrosion.

ARCOVA (UK) STEEL fabricated access covers and frames

As almost all ARCOVA's steel product output is purpose made to suit the demands of individual projects, it has been impossible to show every variant of the recessed steel product. Product types include covers recessed for concrete or small element paving infill, durbar and mesh, in stainless steel or mild steel. Loading range from pedestrian traffic to 11.5 tone slow moving wheel loads.

We reiterate that our technical office is freely available to specifiers and contractors to assist in the development and detailing of standard and nonstandard products.

SPRING  ASSISTED  COVERS  where ease and speed of opening is of prime importance, hinged units can be provided with gas struts or torsion springs which as standard are installed to partly lift the cover. Complete opening of the cover and it's closure is then accomplished under hand pressure.

The pressure and type of gas struts or torsion springs used can be varied to fully open the cover automatically, when the locking mechanism has been deactivated, requiring no hand pressure. The gas struts can be adjusted on site if necessary.

As standard all brass and stainless steel edged covers are sealed and are locked with allen bolts of the same colour as the edging strip.

Covers can be supplied that are independently certified to the the requirements of BS476 part 20 1987 for fire exposures of up to 4 hours.

Our standard method of sealing using high quality neoprene rubber will effectively and economically limit the egress of odours and gasses under ambient pressure from within the chamber or duct.
